CBD (cannabidiol) is not an emerging ingredient anymore. In the US, 1 in 7 adults use CBD products. In the UK, 1.5 million people consume CBD on a regular basis to regain balance, and 6 million have tried CBD in the last year. While CBD consumption has picked up in many sports communities (fighting sports, surfing, running, rugby…), people consume it for various reasons. At WholyMe, we believe in the virtues of CBD to improve overall health and wellbeing, especially to rebalance body and mind when they are put under pressure by our lifestyle.
Although CBD is not an emerging ingredient, the CBD industry is, especially in Europe. It means that quality standards are not strictly set, harmonized, and respected everywhere, therefore making it very hard to find a perfect quality product. In 2019, a report by the Centre for Medical Cannabis found that 38% of CBD products on the UK market have less than 50% of the advertised CBD content. We spent two years making sure our supply chain for our CBD Relief Drops were perfect and respected the highest standards of quality and purity. At WholyMe we are committed to provide you with all the necessary information so you can make enlightened decisions for your health & wellbeing. So, here we explain the quality standards behind our Relief Drops and why they are the best available on the market.
- Production: completely organic, from seed to shelf
Our ingredients provider holds a national organic certification for their facility and their products. Every step of the CBD oil production is carried out respecting the highest standards of purity.
Seed planting starts with the careful selection of the best fields, making sure the ground is free of pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals. This is the only way to guarantee a true sustainable, organic product. Only EU-certified organic industrial hemp is planted and harvested in close collaboration with local authorities to ensure only the plants of the highest calibre are harvested.
The CBD oil is extracted from the plant using a CO2 extraction method, which is the most gentle and safest method to produce a rich, uncontaminated extract.
- The importance of testing
Our ingredient supplier carries out tests at every step of the production process:
- On the fields’ ground samples
- On the seeds
- On the plant after harvest
- On the extracted CBD
- On the processed CBD
For this last step, several tests are implemented not only internally, but with a third-party laboratory, to ensure the objectivity of results.
In addition to this testing process, we at WholyMe test our ordered batch twice with another third-party lab, to ensure 1/the richness of the whole plant extract, 2/the quasi-absence of THC, 3/the amount of CBD we want. You can check the lab test results for our batch on our product page here.
- Product certification
At WholyMe, we strive for the highest quality standards to reach unparalleled results. This is why we decided to go through a rigorous process with the Soil Association, the UK’s leading standard for organic products, to certify our CBD oil as COSMOS organic. Our oil is the first and only certified CBD oil by the Soil Association. We went to great lengths to ensure every partner in our supply chain, from our raw ingredient provider to our packaging partner and filling facilities, meets the stringent criteria set by the Soil Association.
Our CBD delivers what it promises.
- Nothing unnecessary
Our CBD oil contains only organic certified ingredients of the highest quality, rich in Omega 3 and 6, vitamins, cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes and phenolic compounds. Nothing more. We don’t add artificial flavours or colorants, as we believe purity is what makes a product the most potent. We will always aim for quality and effectiveness.
- Research and Development
With the help of our scientific advisor Pr. Mike Barnes, Neurologist and Medical Cannabis expert, and our supplier’s own R&D efforts, we constantly monitor the latest research in the CBD field, to bring you products with the highest bioavailability possible.
